Male Representations

In this image men are represented as being sexualised, this is shown on the main image of the star vehicle-Ronaldo posing without his shirt on. This reinforces stereotypes of men in the media as they're normally shown showing off their bodies. Other people may also see this as being a representation of self loving. This is known as having a polysemic view on the representation.

Men are also represented as caring about what they dress like, this is shown on the cover line reading '12 new rules of denim.' This reinforces stereotypes of men in the media as if you look at every other magazine you'll see that the men are dressed to impress. By using this cover line it connotes that men are dressing the impress.

They're also represented as being sex addicts, this is shown when the cover lines say 'less text more sex' and 'touch her here and her the hot zone you're ignoring,' This has connotation that men are only looking for sex, they don't care about the things before like texting. This reinforces stereotypes of men in the media.

Men are also represented as loving their body and being gym fanatics. This is shown in the cover lines 'add 4KG  muscle in 4 weeks.' This reinforces stereotypes of men in the media as they're shown as being fit and masculine.

The colour rule of three has been used on this magazine, the colours are red, black and blue. The colour red has connotations of love and hatred. This contrasts with how men are represented on the cover page. The colour black has connotations of masculinity. The colour blue has connotations of being a male colour. These colours reinforce stereotypes of men.
